Videotapes to DVD...! Convert before they deteriorate

The majority of people know that their precious memories, that are saved on analog media, are slowly degrading. Those precious family memories that are on VHS, 8mm and Hi8 tapes and slides. Each day that goes by the quality of this film is fading or even turning red.

Another question is do you still have a device that can play, or view, these memories? If you do, you are one of the lucky ones. However, you must realize that these devices will not be produced much longer. To find a new one is rare and to purchase a used one...it is only a matter of time before it fails.

It is very important that if you want to preserve these memories you move them to the digital format as soon as you can.

Home Video Studio - Fort Collins is dedicated to working with you personally on a one-to-one basis. Our staff are experts in using the state-of the art technology to assist you in archiving your precious family memories. We offer you a friendly, knowledgeable, person-to-person relationship. You can avoid the faceless transfers and drop-boxes for your home movies, slides and pictures. With few exceptions, we do all of the work at our home. Your precious originals are safe-guarded and treated like they were our own.

Precious Treasures Lost...Tornado, Windsor, CO

On May 22, 2008 a deadly tornado came through the middle of Windsor, CO. It was one of those events where we all remember... where we were, when we heard the noise. Shockingly we looked out at the horizon and realized that we were right in the path of a mile wide tornado. Later, it was determined that it was an EF 4 tornado slicing it's way through the beautiful and peaceful neighborhoods of Windsor.

What would you take downstairs with you? What would you save from the howling wind, rain and hail. The roof shingles are starting to lift, the house is creaking, the howling wind is deafening. You only have minutes...

Most of us would grab the precious family momentos!! Pictures, jewelry, papers, movies and special things that mean alot to us. For the most part, these are the only things in our possession that we do not insure. The jewelry, house, car, furniture is, most likely, insured and can be replaced. What happens when a tornado, fire or flood destroys the things you hold dear....your family pictures, slides, movies, and papers.

Home Video Studio - Fort Collins would like to help you preserve those treasures. By taking your pictures, papers, slides, movies and digitizing them...they will always be safe. Once processed, they will be placed on a CD or DVD. You can give one to each of your family members and even put a copy in a safe or safe deposit box.

Family Memories on Slides, Photos, 8 mm Movies, VHS tapes and Negatives

Have you looked at your family memories lately? Remember all of the wonderful pictures that were taken as you were growing up. Probably even before that, pictures of cherished relatives that are no longer with us. For years and years, people have been taking pictures on slides, and negative film... turning them into photos. Home movies that were in the form of 8 mm movies and VHS tapes.

These memories are fading away! Over years of storage, film begins to deteriorate...losing it's flexibility and it begins to crack and the emulsion begins to change colors and even fade. Slides that were processed in the '60's are turning red. These wonderful family memories can not only be saved they can be restored to the beautiful images that they once contained.

Remember how much equipment your family had to pull out of the closet to just view these precious memories. Slide Projectors, Movie Projectors, Movie Screens, VHS Cameras, Heavy Photo Album after Heavy Photo Album. Who sees them now and what are you going to do with them?

Home Video Studio - Fort Collins, is here to help. We take each of your cherished items and individually process them. We can digitally scan each frame, slide, negative, photograph or movie. We can eliminate many of the flaws like dust, scratches, color fading and restore them to their original quality.

You can share all of these special moments with members of your family instead of having that hidden box in the attic. This process does not affect the original items in any way and they will be returned to you exactly as you gave them to us. These new digital images can be stored easily on CD or DVD. A CD can store up to 500 images and a DVD can store up to 4,000 images.

Once these images are in the digital format you can share, print and view them at any time. You can build scrapbooks, create genealogy family trees with pictures, print pictures, or just enjoy an evening of viewing, by just popping in the DVD to your DVD player and sit down and enjoy the walk back in time.

Keep these memories for the generations to follow. Preserve and enjoy them now, but also give your family a "gift of a lifetime".
